HI! It's me, the one who adopted triplets. They are now 10 months old and still breastfeeding, though of course now they also have two meals of cereal, fruits, and veggies.I would like to keep breastfeeding for another 6-12 months, but I'm having a problem with one of my guys.

For some reason he has begun bracing huimself against me when breastfeeding, pulling my breast and nipple painfully. I'm really afrarid he's going to stretch them out permanently. He does this no matter what position we nurse in. He isn't too hot, and he is naturally a very affectionate little guy. He loves to snuggle and nestle, and seeks out physical contact. I'm baffled as to why he has started pushing and pulling as if my nipple is detachable. It is becoming really painful, though, and I really need a solution.

Jamie have you tried feeding him first when your breasts are at their fullest? Maybe he is workign hard to get milk. If he is still doing it I would say it is a behavioural thing like biting. Some kids do this testing the limits. If it continues I would tell unlatch him and tell him No firmly. Just say that hurts Mommy don't do that. And then offer the breast again. Out of 3 long term nursers I only had two who tried the biting. It usually stops as soon as they know you won't tolerate it.

when he starts this... try pulling him into your breast.. smush him in then release to normal holding. Then firmly but softly tell him NO hurt mama. See if this helps
