Hi there...I don't post much (but lurk often!) and thought I'd check-in to give an update on our progress. I did/am doing the Regular Protocol. I was pumping about 9oz per day average up until the birth but everyone assured me that babies are much more efficient than pumps and that my supply would increase more with pumping. Our babe was born March 30th and I started nursing her about twenty minutes after her birth. So far it *seems* that I have enough supply for her so we are not yet supplementing with any of our frozen stash ...she's 3 weeks old now and has is gaining weight. She has sufficient wet/dirty diapers a day and seems satiated. I continue to take the dom, herbs, oatmeal.

I'm amazed that we've gotten this far and am still insecure about whether I'll be able to meet her demands as she grows. I have the Lact-Aid and about 200oz frozen should she need more (and am willing to look into milk donors) but is there any chance that we may be able to just continue and that my body will meet her growing demands...or am I kidding myself?

Either way I am so happy how things are going and so very thankful smile that I found this protocol and for the help that Lenore and others have given to moms like me going the induced lactation route.

sounds like your doing fantastic! Yes it is entirely possible you can continue to meet your babies needs. Just enjoy your nursing relationship with your baby. If you need to supliment you will know soon enough. But there is a good chance you won't have to smile

Adoptive mommy to 4 , Last 2 adopted nursed. Youngest nursed till she was 5! Raising 2 grandbabies, as infants they were raised on donor breast milk smile
