I have had an interesting 24 hours. Yesterday, I went to my OB/GYN at Stanford University, who was not comfortable with prescribing bcp's for induced lactation. I had even provided her with all the literature printed from this website, but to no avail... She wouldn't prescribe them. I felt pretty deflated, but resolved to contact my Reproductive Endo doc, who helped us with the IVF/surrogacy. She replied that she supports induced lactation, and was willing to prescribe the bcp's. Phew! But, she does not recommend the dom, and is suggesting metoclopromide. Does anyone know the difference? I suspect it's because one can obtain the Meto through domestic pharmacies, and they are not thrilled with the idea of people taking drugs from non sanctioned businesses... thoughts?

By the way, I realized that Metoclopromide is the same as Reglan, and of course, this is not recommended, due to side effects.

You are right Robin you don't want the Metoclopromide. Compounding pharmacies in the US can mix you domperidone/motillium. I would call around and find a compounding pharmacy and ask your doc to call in or write a prescription. Your other option is to just buy it yourself through globaldrug.tv you don't need a precsription. It is probably cheaper too.

the Reglan will NOT give you the breast changes that the Domperidone will. And the depression from Reglan is horrible.
