We just tried to order Dom compounded through our local compounding pharmacy and they said the FDA now doesn't allow that anymore.
I had called 1-2 years ago and it was fine. Now it's not.

We need it compounded because we're doing an elimination diet to try and resolve our son's eczema, and Motilium is made with corn byproducts, so it could cause a reaction. We need it compounded hypoallergenically, but now it's impossible.

We're going to have to wean off the Dom during the elimination diet, and I'm afraid our supply will taper off. I guess we're going to have to pump a million times a day, while also bf'ing him. This sucks. Stupid FDA. Too bad we're not closer to Canada.

Sorry new here... whats the difference of regular Dom and compounding Dom???

I found out tonight that there is a newborn boy who needs a home, and we could be bringing him home. Since we found out today I have had no time to do any procedure. I've nursed my 3 biological children, my youngest is 3 and I nursed her for 15 months. How would I go about getting my milk in asap for this new little man??

Jamie congrats. Compounded Dom is fine if you can't find regular. But if you have a choice get regular as it is more consistent in its make up and compounded can vary.
You can still do a protocol.
The accelerated protocol is the way to go in a situation like yours. Get on the bcp (Ortho 1/35 or Yasmin active pills only no sugar pills)) and dom in combination for at least 30 days. Nurse baby using a lact-aid or SNS. Do not pump or take herbs until after stopping the bcp. Once you stop the bcp add in the herbs Fenugreek 500-700 mg 3 tabs 3x a day and Blessed Thistle 300-400mg 3 tabs 3x a day. continue to nurse with lact-aid pumping after feeds when you can. smile oh and come here for support and any questions.

Found out we won't be getting that baby, we don't have our home study done. frown That's ok, God has a home for him.

I really don't want to take the bcpills... I took Yasmin before and it gave me migranes, HORRIBLE ones. So I think I'll try Goats Rue. Can I get that at a local health store???

Thanks!! I've ordered the Dom from Inhouse, at least I'll be prepared for the other baby being born in Dec. We're still waiting to hear if the bm will accept us as the adopting parents.

Thanks again!

Jamie

Can you take the Ortho 1/35? If not then you follow a different course for Goats Rue and Dom, you add in the herbs and begin pumping. You pump until baby arrives then depending on how much milk you are making you may still have to use a lact-aid

Oh and you maybe able to get Goats Rue at your health food store. IF not search it online it should be pretty easy to find.

KJP ~ Have you tried any other compounding pharmacies??? I have a friend whose husband is a compounding pharmacist, and we had a discussion about Dom the other day. She said that pharmacies can't get the active dom ingredient anymore, BUT if they still have it, they can compound it and dispense it. SO, long story short, you might want to try some other compounding pharmacies in your area. Good Luck!

1year on regular protocol.
Nursing/pumping for one month for our sweet girl!!
