I've been so busy with our new baby and my 5 year old that I haven't had a chance to get onto this website in a very long time! Breastfeeding is going great! My daughter is 2 months old now and I have a full milk supply! And she is a big girl too- off the charts for height and weight.
I am thinking about weaning the domperidone and was wondering if anyone had advice about that. Does the milk supply usually decrease significantly when you cut back the domperidone?
Here is my induced lactation history: I didn't have much time before the baby was born, so I decided not to do the protocol. I started out taking just the fenugreek and blessed thistle and pumping, but only would get a drop of milk. So, I stopped the herbs and ordered the domperidone. The baby was born before the domperidone arrived, so I nursed her with the lact-aid. Nursing a baby instead of using a pump made quite a difference. After 1 week I was able to pump 1/2 an ounce. Then the domperidone arrived and it really helped my supply to pick up. I am still taking 3 tablets of domperidone 3 times each day, but would love to cut back. I really don't like taking medication, and have a hard time even remembering to take it.
So, any advice from all you experienced moms would be much appreciated!!
Thanks,
Katie
